Ann Lopez is the former wife of legendary comedian George Lopez. In her 35 years in the entertainment industry, she has been an actress, a Casting Director, and a Television Producer. As an actress, she appeared in Curb Your Enthusiasm: Arrested Development, Life with Bonnie, and over 60 television commercials. As a Casting Director. she specialized in Latino and children’s casting. Her over 150 clients included McDonald’s Huggies Diapers and Michelin Tires. She produced the movies “Naughty or Nice” for ABC and “ Mr. Troup Mom “ for Nickelodeon. Recently, she Executive Produced the documentary, “ Carlos Almaraz, Playing With Fire, “ which can be seen on Netflix. And also produced the comedy specials George Lopez, Tall, Dark and Chicano, and George Lopez: America’s Mexican for HBO. Ann sat on The Smithsonian’s National Latino Board, The National Board of The National Kidney Foundation, and started The Ann and George Lopez Foundation. She is an advocate for organ donation and works with a myriad of organ donation charities.
The couple has been married for 17 years and has a daughter, Mayan, 27. Mayan and her father star in the NBC sitcom Lopez vs. Lopez, which is currently filming its second season. Ann and George have had a very up-and-down relationship since their divorce in 2011, 12 years ago. I can’t wait to have her share how she has navigated a public divorce and a problematic post-divorce relationship with positivity and a sense of humor.
